Chiropractic Chiropractic care is a non-invasive and hand-on form of manual therapy. This form of manual therapy includes manipulation, mobilization, manual traction and many other forms of therapy. A manipulation is a form of intervention in which a quick and controlled thrust is applied to a joint to restore the normal and natural movement of the joint. This technique can help decrease pain, improve range of motion and relieve joint stiffness.  


Acupuncture Acupuncture is a traditional form of health care that began in China centuries ago. Today, this method of treatment uses needles to effectively affect the muscles, joints and connective tissues in the body with accordance western medicine. Research has shown that this method of treatment has been effective in promoting relaxation, circulation, decrease in muscle tension and pain. Contemporary acupuncture is an evidence-based practice which focuses on anatomy and physiology with the aid of electrical stimulation to activate the nervous system and modulate pain.

Gastron Technique(R) The Graston Technique® incorporates a patented form of instrument-assisted soft tissue mobilization that enables the clinician to effectively detect and treat scar tissue and restrictions that affect normal function.The Graston Technique® instruments are used to enhance the clinician's ability to detect adhesions, scar tissue or restrictions in the affected areas. Skilled clinicians use the stainless steel instruments to comb over and "catch" on fibrotic tissue, which immediately identifies the areas of restriction. Once the tissue has been identified, the instruments are used to break up the scar tissue so it can be absorbed by the body.

Unionville Health Centre provides comprehensive rehabilitation programs aimed at thoroughly assessing and treating the injured areas to restore the individual to their maximal potential well-being. Rehabilitation is an integral part of any injury management treatment plan. Rehabilitation can include strengthening, stretching, motor re-programming, core training and balance or proprioceptive training. 

Deep Pool Aqua Therapy

Deep Pool Aqua Therapy Unionville Health Centre provides an aqua therapy program to allow patients to experience a variety of cardiovascular and resistance exercises in deep pool while vertically suspected by a special floatation device (i.e. Aquajogger). Patients can be up to 90% buoyant. This means that exercises can be performed in near weightlessness therefore reducing impact tremendously.  

Nutritional Counselling and Lifestyle Advice

Nutritional Counselling and Lifestyle Advice Nutritional counselling will be provided to help achieve achieve total health and balance. We will review and assess your health goals, diet and eating style and gather all the information necessary to design a satisfying, easy-to-follow nutrition plan based on your needs, food preferences, and lifestyle. Choosing the right combination of functional foods, natural health products and supplements for preventative and therapeutic applications can have a significant effect on overall health.

Ergonomic Assessment

Ergonomic Assessment An ergonomic assessment can identify the cause of the ergonomic risk and provide an itemized list of recommendations designed to resolve the risk factors based on the identified behavioural, administrative and/or engineering/design. An ergonomic assessment is very valuable in determining how a workstation may cause awkward posture and result in repetitive strain injuries. A proper ergonomic design and assessment is necessary to prevent these injuries which can lead to long term disability.

Massage therapy treatment has a therapeutic effect on the body and optimizes health and well being by acting on the muscular, nervous and circulatory systems. It is known to affect the circulation of blood and the flow of blood and lymph, reduce muscular tension or flaccidity,affect the nervous system through stimulation or sedation, and enhance tissue healing.

Class IV Laser Therapy

Ergonomic Assessment Class IV therapeutic laser is used for the treatment of both chronic and acute pain that is present anywhere on the body. It is commonly used from chronic back and neck pain, lower back pain, sports injuries, and musculoskeletal conditions. Studies have shown that by using photobiomodulation (laser light), it has been shown to modulate cellular protein production and stimulate healing by increasing blood circulation to the affected area(s), decrease swelling, reducing pain and enhancing tissue repair. By using the class IV laser, it is able to provide an increased amount of therapeutic dosages of laser light to a larger volume of tissue in a shorter period of time. It is highly recommended in treating chronic and deeper-seated soft tissue problems as well.
